Do you own an older home (built before 1978)?
Do you have children under the age of six living in your home or a household member who is pregnant?
Do you need housing repairs to abate lead based paint in your home?
If your answer is yes, then the Lead Hazard Reduction Demonstration Grant Program may help you!

Properties must be located in Summit County, Ohio as designated by the City of Akron Department of Planning and Urban Development
Properties must have lead paint hazards and meet the qualifications of the program.
Housing code violations may be addressed as part of the work.
Lead paint issues will be addressed as part of the work.
Owner-occupied single family owners, in the City of Akron, may qualify for a $7,500 lead hazard reduction grant, a $7,500 rehabilitation grant, and a $7,500 zero interest deferred payment loan.
Landlords, in the City of Akron, may qualify for up to $7,500 lead hazard reduction matching grant and will provide a 50% match of all rehabilitation grant funds used to rehabilitate the rental unit.

5 persons - $56,150.006 persons - $60,300.007 persons - $64,500.00
8 persons - $68,650.00

Qualifications
Own a single family home or rental property (1-4 units) located in a designated area.
Households with a child under the age of six (6).
The property must be located in Summit County as designated by the City of Akron Department of Planning and Urban Development.
Household income cannot exceed income guidelines.
